I don’t have chronic pain but this artwork is so nice to look at *^*
Just because we’re not writhing on the floor doesn’t mean we’re not hurting. We’ve just gotten really good at hiding it and functioning with it, otherwise we’d literally starve in our beds.
Lived like this for nearly a year. Got super lucky that it was repairable, but feel for those who have conditions that are not. <3
YES. So many people need to see this. Just because I’m not crying- doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt like hell. And when I say I’m in “constant” pain, I mean that I am in constant pain.
Just because you don’t see me wincing, or hear me complaining, doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
Yep. This, this, this.
Best part of having any chronic condition is when you make a habit of trying never to complain, so that when you finally have to let it out people act like they’ve been betrayed.
You know, because you allowed them to expect never to have to deal with you.
Because anyone who’s not actively and vocally having problems is totally fine, so you don’t have to waste any energy on thinking about them.
*rimshot*
I don’t so much experience chronic pain with my condition, but certainly affected physically a lot in another way, but oh man I wish sometimes I could just project onto people what it’s like to have something that’s chronic. I don’t think a lot of people really appreciate how truly unending and unrelenting a chronic illness is - I always feel like people think it’s an only-sometimes and not a constant despite the “chronic”. Anyway.
Big shout out & hugs to everyone out there who’s dealing with chronic pain and also other chronic illnesses because I am super proud of you.
